  • What does innocence have to do with the world we are living in?
  • And what does it have to do with the way we are living in the world?

We are no longer living in a state of  innocence about what is happening throughout the world. We can no longer hide our heads and say the world is not vastly different than it was even yesterday, much less a year ago.We can no longer say we are innocent because it wasn’t us that made things this way.

The first question has us looking to the outside world. Possibly to a world we feel no responsibility for, or connection too. All that is happening is happening TO US not because in some way we have had a part in it.  Have we blindly believed what politicians and world leaders told us to keep our focus on something outside of us being able to save us and make us feel secure ? A possibility, yes. A probability yes.

In looking outside of us for quick fixes or the latest and greatest gadget to make our lives simpler we veered farther and farther away from self and knowing what that is.

I recently read on facebook a call to begin family rituals.  Is it possible that how far we have veered from family values and personal responsibility within that structure had a major effect on where we were led?  The more each individual in the interdependent structure of family disconnected and became more concerned with their personal right to have all wants and desired fulfilled on the outside of themselves, the less connection, appreciation for and respect they had for other family members. And in the process they disconnected from their deep emotional feel for the other family members, themselves and  life.

When was the last time you turned to a family member (and that can mean the family of man) and spoke from your heart? From a deep personal connection to the respect you have for yourself and for others?

When was the last time you went inside to feel and not outside to find something to feel better?

Until we turn away from focusing on the problems outside of us and begin to reconnect to self respect, morals, love etc… we will not be in touch with feeling our own individual answers to the second question.

Could this possible be a way to begin to heal all that we live and touch, to go within?
