The Flip Side of Dog Begging
My dogs have the best of friends. One in particular showers them with love and treats from her pet store bakery, Lovable Pets in Billings. They would adore her even without the treats. Ellie her husband (an equally loved person by my dogs) and their two dogs are just plain special in their eyes. They are truly my dogs friends, as well as mine.
One of the treats my dog loves from the bakery are cupcakes. Mention the word and Cleophas licks his lips and all but ties a napkin around his neck.
During yesterdays visit, with cupcakes of course, Ellie mentioned her staff loves these particular cupcakes made especially for dogs and asked me if I wanted to taste it. I jumped at the chance, they smelled and looked wonderful. Being wheat intolerant I could only have a bit of the cupcake, but a bigger bite of the topping. It certainly was delicious. Cleophas had not understated their taste.
This morning after breakfast Cleophas reminded me about the cupcakes he was to eat before they dried out. I took the box off the top of the refrigerator with both my dogs riveted attention on my movements. I thought” oh just one more bite” as both Cleophas and Ezzy watched me take a piece for myself. I started to laugh and pointed out to them that see mom finally did beg some of your snack from you. I had been telling them for years how would they like it if I begged at their dinner plate. I finally got to do it in reverse. It felt good. The only difference between their wanting part of what I eat and getting it and me asking and taking part of theirs was they never feel guilty and I did.
Never a dull moment at the OK corral. Yes my dogs are spoiled and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thumbs up!
